TAGGED

Posted by kongkong622 on August 31, 2007

Several of my blogger pals have tagged me in the last month but I haven’t had the chance to answer any of them. So to my friends Mitch, Rach, Momoftwo, and Chi…..please accept my humble apologies. Please do not send me to the corner for being remiss in my duties. I promise, I will do all the tags NOW, all in one shot!!

I won’t be tagging anyone but, at the same time, I am encouraging anyone to do these tags because they were fun to do.

So…here goes!!

Tag #1 : THE DAY I WAS BORN

I was tagged by Mitch to do this. This is a birthday tag so this is coming in advanced for my next birthday.

What do I need to do?

  • Go to Wikipedia and type in your birthday (month and day).
  • Write down three events, 2 births, 1 holiday and tag 5 friends.
  • There are five slots in the Birthday Meme. As you are tagged, you have to remove the name in the first slot and bump everyone up so that your name can be added to the bottom.

My birthday : June 22

3 Events

2 Births

1 Holiday

  • Bring your pet to work Day

Tag #2 : RANDOM STUFF

  • fishballs
  • hopiang baboy

  • give each of my kids a trust fund
  • give my Mom a retirement fund
  • buy a house by the beach in Palawan

  • being with my kids
  • being with my husband

Tag #3 : A BLAST FROM THE PAST

Blast From the Past Rules :

  • Please try to limit your list to 10 posts or less. Take your time. Do some digging in your archives to find the perfect ones – it’s to your advantage more than anything else. Please link to where this meme first started. Also link to this post – at the blog where you were tagged. Tag 5 folks. Let them know by email, contact form or some other efficient method.

Say…AAAHHHH!!!

Posted by kongkong622 on August 30, 2007

Last Saturday we took the girls for their first visit to the dentist. My husband and I felt that it was high time that they have their first prophylaxis and lesson on good oral hygiene

On the way to the clinic, Gaby was giving us some heavy drama and was telling us that she didn’t need to go because her teeth were ok and that she had no cavities. Adi, on the other hand, was only too happy to go. She was singing and was really excited. Little did we know that things would take a 180-degree turn as soon as we stepped into the dentist’s office.

Initially, the head dentist gave the girls a short story-telling of a dinosaur with bad teeth. It was a good way to introduce the whole “dental routine” to the kids. Or so, I thought.

Right away, Gaby was only too excited to start her session. Moreso when she saw the funky interiors of the clinic. She just loved the brightly colored dental chairs and was given a choice of what chair she would sit on. She chose a lime-green chair.

Adi didn’t like the story at all and decided that she wasn’t going to have her check-up. Just like that. Of course, we wouldn’t have any of that. We encouraged her to stay on the blue-chair because there was a television set playing cartoons right beside it. That worked for a while but as soon as she heard the buzzing of the prophylaxis tool, she was ready to jump out of the chair and take the next tricycle ride going home.

So, the dentist suggested that Papa should carry her. And that’s what he did. That too worked for a while but in the end we were resigned to the fact that Adi’s dental session was not going to happen. We were, instead, referred to a Pedodontist who specializes in children’s dental care. To put it simply, the dentist said that caring for a 2 year old’s teeth is “suntok sa buwan.”

At the end of the whole visit the girls were given specially-made rubber-glove balloons as a price. The only drawback, no eating for at least an hour because of the fluoride treatment. That earned a lot of whining since we promised the kids a visit to Pizza Hut for a large Cheesy Pops pizza.

Looky-looky…Guess who our neighbor is…

Posted by kongkong622 on August 21, 2007

We live in a rather small village. It’s actually just one stretch of road. We used to be part of a larger subdivision but due to some bickerings in the past, the residents of our street decided to just be separated from everyone else. So now our village is one street. There are around 40 houses and everyone knows everyone. Safety is not a problem. There are no crossroads so there is no danger of getting run over by a blindsided driver coming out of a corner. The kids here play in the street and the neighborhood is like one happy town.

Anyway, yesterday one of our neighbors who has been very shy decided to come out and walk her dogs. My kids love her dogs but have never had the chance to interact with her yet. So when our yaya spotted her she immediately called us and went into serious “fan-mode”.

My neighbor is……
